■ Prospectus
Approximately 200,000 Korean adoptees with different nationalities and identities are known to be scattered all over the world.
With no voice of their own, Korean children have been sent throughout the world to various countries with diverse histories and cultures to start new lives.
While many have accepted these lives which were given to them, an equal amount have placed blame on their biological families and unknown circumstances for lives that truly are not their own.
While both groups may seek knowledge of their native country and the families they left behind, the identity issues of living in a different culture has caused pain for some. Seeking answers to their true culture, they desperately wish to find their roots.
What small act of love can we show to these adoptees?
By inviting them to Korea, we can help learn about Korean history, culture, and tradition, and show them the development of their motherland since they left.
If they can better understand and recognize their identity and receive encouragement and support from native Koreans, our hope is that they may stand as proud Koreans.
Therefore since 1996, we at JINHEUNGMOONHWA Co., Ltd. have invited 15-25 adoptees annually to Korea.
Though small in capacity now, we take pride in what we do, and as we proceed with this work, we hope that these Korean overseas adoptees, through this precious chance to visit their motherland, will enjoy a special experience and have the opportunities to represent Korea in the country they live as Koreans.
I hope to see you all soon.
Sincerely
Kyung-Jin Park,
Founder and President
